Another day on which I actually thought I’d be less busy (because I usually don’t work on Fridays), but it turns out that there hardly is any time left to write a long and interesting blog post, because I had quite a few things planned or just have to finally take care of some things, But I expected that so I planned ahead a little bit and uploaded the next (and for this year last) batch of fall foliage (or as I like to call them “Treeporn”) photos.
We’ve had an incredibly beautiful, sunny and warm Indian Summer around here this time. I don’t know if we really hadn’t had that in recent years or if I just didn’t notice it before. This year though I was outdoors for geocaching purposes twice (and failed twice, but that’s another story) and on both occasions I had a great time just being outdoors and see the truly incredible beauty of our nature at this time of the year…
I was walking a special forest path on which there are various stops where children can learn and experience things about the forest and every once in a while there also were sculptures, made by the guys who usually work their in the forest chopping down the trees and such. It’s not far from where I live, but I hadn’t know about it until I was out there trying to find a geocache. Even though I might suck at the actual geocaching I’m happy that it gives me the incentive to get out of my usual surroundings and see and experience something different…
I love tree porn! Especially with the beautiful all foliage. 99% of the trees have lost all their leaves here already. Even the rowan trees have had most of the red berries eaten too! I should find a stand of birch trees and try to get a good picture of the black and white-ness of them.
Have fun with geo-caching. I’ve never tried it, but I have friends who love it. And anything that gets you outside and enjoying nature, whether you find the caches or not, is a great hobby!
We’ve been really blessed with beautiful fall foliage this year. I hope the memories of these colourful trees will get me through the winter, if it will be such a long and cold and stormy winter than the one we had last season.
I’d love to see some photos of fall foliage from Finland…
