Jumble of Thoughts #002

Another short post, if only to let you know I’m still alive. (In case you were wondering and don’t follow me on twitter, where I’m a bit more active at least.)

Best news this week: @PatrickDempsey joined Twitter. I didn’t think I would live to see that day :-) When he was asked about Twitter / Facebook etc. in interviews before he always explained that he’s not interested in any of it. But something or someone obviously has changed his mind and explained what a great PR thing Twitter can be. I expected Paddy to use it for promoting stuff he deeply cares about (racing, the Dempsey Center in Maine etc.) but so far he actually has tweeted more from the set and I love it. So much more enjoyable than I ever expected it…

I’ve watched the second Sherlock Holmes movie and the third episode of Season 2 of “Sherlock” and enjoyed both a lot. They are both unique in their own way and I can’t wait for Sherlock Season 3. Such a great piece of television.

The heart palpitations I experienced a few days ago didn’t occur again, or at least not to the same degree. I might have felt a bit more restless at first, but even that passed and I think it really just were my nerves. Even though I don’t have any idea what started it.

I still haven’t caught up with all my shows this week. Grey’s had a few nice scenes, but was mostly meh. I always enjoy Parenthood and The Good Wife and I hope I will find the time to watch the new “White Collar” episode soon. Even though I have no idea how to squeeze that in next week’s schedule.

Via a Twitter-friend I found a very wonderful book, maybe even my favourite of the last few months. (By now I realize I haven’t updated my Goodreads Page yet *sigh*). The book is “The Journal of Best Practices” and it’s written David Finch, who has  Aspergers Syndrome (a form of autism) and it’s his story of how he tried, learned and managed to be a better husband.  It’s amazing, heart-warming,  honest, eye-opening and very funny.

Besides all the usual stuff I also spent a lot of my time this week looking for accomodations for our Scotland trip in August. Planning a vacation can be soooo time consuming. But it can also be a lot of fun. Most of the time at least ;-)

I’m more or less on track regarding my “Promises”. Going to the gym, visiting a museum and geocaching are still things I have to do in the remaining 9 days. Ugh! It has to stop raining for a day until I will dare out to find a geocache. And it hasn’t stopped raining since… I don’t know. It feels like it’s been raining for most of January. It definitely is raining since last weekend!
