And we haven’t done enough of this simple kind of stuff
This year it’s clear we’re getting older and it shows.
(Dan’s Song ~ Frank Turner, 2009)
I usually fail at making new year’s resolutions or to be honest I fail at keeping them. Whatever the resolutions are or whatever I like to call them. Maybe I just always choose the wrong ones? Dresden has a wonderful post about not making resolutions, but goals and I will try to adapt that way of thinking.
I haven’t really made up my mind what exactly I want to change in my life in the next year. I could give you a list of things I want to stop doing (procrastinating and such). Or things I would love to achieve on a more personal level (like “be more kind to yourself”), but I’m not sure I want to delve into that too much now.
On a more positive note, I know that after last year, that seemed to have passed me by, I want to do more of the “simple kind of stuff” which I didn’t do enough of in 2013.
- Spend more time with my friends.
- Read more books.
- Go for more walks.
- Take more photos with a real camera.
- overcome the “
writer’sblogger’s block” that has kept me silent for so long this past year. - Leave more comments on blogs.
- Do more Geocaching.
- Visit more museums, exhibitions and such.
- Learn new things.
- Be more active in general: cycling, gym, but also simple things, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator…
If I manage to do more of these things, I think 2014 might turn out to be a good year. And I hope it will be just as good for all my readers.
