Jumble of Thoughts 014

Since yesterday I’m officially on vacation for three whole weeks. Glorious! I don’t quite know yet what to do with all the free time. I spent Saturday pretty lazy at home on my couch watching the 24 hours of Le Mans and watching the team’s hilariously entertaining twitter feed. I’m not a motorsport fan at all, but Patrick Dempsey is racing and it’s been such a huge dream come true for him and I’m a Dempsey fan so I support my guy :-) I’d be thrilled if his team actually manage to secure a podium finish in their class, but all in all I just want them all to stay safe, because in the end that’s all that matters. Early in the race yesterday afternoon a driver was killed in a crash and it really puts everything in perspective. RIP Allan Simonsen.

I hope this lazy weekend will recharge my batteries enough to actually get some things done next week. Not just necessary stuff like houshold chores and doctors appointments, but also nice stuff like shopping and studying (well, yes that can be nice) and fun stuff like cycling and geocaching and reading and writing and taking pictures and watching DVDs. For way too long in the last few weeks I postponed doing stuff and was a first class procrastinator. Scarlett O’Hara style, “Tomorrow is another day” and all :-) Maybe I should publish all the things I want / should do in this first week of vacation and hold myself accountable that way?

Outlander Chronicles 2013
Day 159 | Audiobook: : The Fiery Cross | Part Four: I Hear No Music But the Sound of Drums | Chapter 36: Worlds Unseen

One of my favourite scenes in this part: Claire is testing her microscope and examing various “specimens”, when Jamie enters her surgery and she shows him what she is doing. He’s fascinated and interested until he finds out that he’s not looking at germs, but sperm under the microscope. Hilarious.

“Whose are they?” he asked, his tone one of darkest suspicion.
“Er … well, yours, of course,” I cleared my throat, mildy embarrassed. “Who else’s would they be?”
His hand darted reflexively between his legs, and he clutched himself protectively.
“How the hell did ye get them?”
“How do you think?” I said, rather coldly. “I woke up in custody of them this morning.”
His hand relaxed, but a deep blush of mortification stained his cheeks dark crimson.

I’d love to see that on screen in Outlander Season 5. Did I mention that the Outlander series got a green light from Starz and filming will start in Scotland in September? I’m excited but also a bit anxious about it. I really hope they won’t mess with my favourite fictional man / couple / universe.
